“I didn’t use the C word, but I kind of wish I had
To help emphasise my point but that would have made me look bad.
So I’ll sit on this couch and think about the person I used to be,
Old habits die hard, you don’t need to tell me..”

“When I was a boy I didn’t know nothing
Didn’t have a care in the world.
I had innocence and ignorance of things,
I wish I still did not know.
But no matter how far these songs take me,
If my dreams come true oh the heart aches break me,
No matter where I make my bed,
I long for you.”
(“Tennessee” song by Drew Holcomb)

New discoveries are brilliant moments, whether its a new ice cream flavour or just a new place to visit. In this case, of course, its new music. When viewing my latest new subscription videos on the great service we call, “Youtube”, this artist named Drew Holcomb stood out. I took it upon myself after only 30 seconds of a live performance to purchase the album as I was hooked! As a fellow musician, songwriter, artist or whatever you want to label us as, his lyrics open up my mind and allow me to interpret his own thought process in my own way.

Linking this to my latest post, “Inspiration”, you never know when its going to strike or where its going to come from. This gift from above in the form of a very talented country singer from Tennessee, he has inspired me and given me a new flame of ambition to develop my own lyrics to this level. If you haven’t heard of him, check him out. Truly a breathe of fresh air.
